Carriage Barns
Our traditional carriage barns are proving more and more popular - they add value to your property and bring style and timeless quality from a bygone era. They can be combined with our other timber buildings and in most cases do not require planning permission.

We manufacture and design our traditional carriage barns in four standard sizes 18'x18', 18'x27' and 18'x36', other sizes are available on request. All of our carriage barns are produced with the finest timber and come complete with black onduline roofing and arched bracing. There is also the option of adding solid oak arched bracing and cedar shingle roof tiles which look fantastic.

Each carriage barn is constructed on site to suit your specific requirements. Everyone at National is extremely aware of the need to meet the highest possible standards in customer expectation. Carriage Barn Specifications
All timbers used to manufacture our timber barns and carriage barns apart from OS board, are Tanalised C.C treated.
Framing: 2"x4" (50x100mm) prepared CLS framing set @ 18" (457mm) centres.

Wind Bracing: 2"x4" (50 x 100mm) prepared CLS 45 degree diagonal bracing.
Cladding:6" (150mm) shiplap cladding from selected timber.
Support Posts: 4"x4" (100x100mm) prepared and tanalised.
Front Lintel:2" x 9" (50x225mm).
Front Arched Bracing: Scalloped and dowelled arched bracing fitted to each open bay.
Roof timbers:(Purlins) 2"x5" (50x100mm) prepared CLS purlins set @ 18" (450mm) centres.
Roof Lining: 1/2" (12mm) Oriented strand board (OSB) roof lining.
Barn Roof: Black Onduline Roofing
Rainwater Protector: uPVC fitted behind the cladding which overhangs the course of bricks, preventing rainwater penetrating between the sole plate and brickwork.
Gutters: 4" (100mm) black half round gutters and down pipes fitted to front and rear.
Gable Ends: Gable ends are fitted with barge boards and points.
Bolting Down: 1/2" (12mm) Hilti plated steel para bolts fixing building to base (2 per 9' wall).
Height: 8'1 1/2" (2.48m) Eaves height when erected on a single course of holed engineering bricks. height to ridge 11'3" (3.43m).
Standard Sizes: 18'x18', 18'x27' and 18'x36'.
Optional Extras:Front with double doors, dividing wall, felt tiles, two bay (18'), three bay (27') and four bay (36').
